Anchor Text

March 13, 2023

Anchor text is the text that is clickable inside a hyperlink. It is meant to stand out from the surrounding text to signal readers that it can be clicked. Thus, it should be a different color than normal text. (It is typically blue.) Other stylistic elements, such as an underlining, can be included. Anchor text should inform users of the type of website they will visit when clicking the link.
