Web Directions has of course been a huge part of my life, over coming up on 20 years now. Recently we received an email from one of our online attendees about how a Web Directions conference impacted their life.

This will be my first Web Directions conference since 2012. That was a life changing conference for me, changed my entire career path!

I was a web developer for a SEO-powered lead gen company that did many, many bad things to the internet. It was Relly Annett-Baker’s part on content strategy that really opened my eyes. After that conference, I turned my focus to making the internet a better place. I even went freelance for two years, doing a mix of content strategy and web development… and the lessons I learned at that conference still resonate with me.

And while the impact may not be quite as large for many, we know it has played a part in quite a few folks’ lives as well–from getting their first job, to meeting their life partner and a whole lot in between.

When we hear these stories, often years later, and particularly after the challenges of the last 3 years, knowing that what we’ve worked so hard on over the years has had a positive impact on people’s lives and makes a real difference. This inspires us to do even more!
