Facebook Adds Mid-Roll Ads to Small Group of Live Broadcasters

February 24, 2017

Facebook announced on Thursday that they will start putting ads in the middle of videos – which are being called “ad breaks”.

We wrote about this back in January – when Facebook was starting to test this feature.

Both Facebook and publishers have had a hard time making money off of the videos, so that will easily change with this new update.

According to Marketing Land, Pages and Profiles in the United States that have at least 2,000 followers and attract at least 300 concurrent viewers to a live broadcast are eligible to insert the ads into their streams.

If you are eligible to insert an ad break into your live stream, you will be notified the next time they start a live broadcast.
