Earlier this week, Google released their much anticipated Penguin update that targets web spam in their search results. Google said that 3 percent of websites will be impacted with the algorithm update.

In their official webmaster blog, Google said, “The change will decrease rankings for sites that we believe are violating Google’s quality guidelines. This algorithm represents another step in our efforts to reduce webspam and promote high-quality content.”
