EP 196: Rand Fishkin Interview - Penguin 4.0, Moz Layoffs, & Running a SaaS

October 11, 2016

What a trip is has been! We started this journey over four years ago, recording in a small radio station here in Indianapolis, and leveling up, over time. There’s been a lot of episodes, and huge amount of work for this shop of ours, and today we celebrate a big victory (actually two!)

We are now broadcasting from our own studio – Edge Media Productions. What a great achievement for our team and the quality that has gone into this new studio has been phenomenal!

Here’s another victory: We’ve got Rand Fishkin of Moz as our guest for our first podcast out of the Edge Studios! Some of the topics we discuss with Rand include:

  • Google Penguin 4.0
  • Moz Layoffs
  • His stepping down as CEO
  • Growing a Startup
  • Running a Business
  • Moz’s product offering
  • Rand’s mustache
  • SEO tickle fights (yes you read it right)

EDITOR’S NOTE: We ran out of time with Rand, but we wanted to discuss Moz’s latest feature of Moz Pro, Keyword Explorer. Definitely, go check out that tool (and the whole Moz toolset) when you are doing keyword research and content idea creation. It has a lot of great features that we wanted to discuss with Rand, but didn’t get to it in time. – Tom
