EP 280: The Neuroscience of Storytelling w/Joe Lazauskas

August 21, 2018

Joe Lazauskas joins us on the show today to break down a few of the major concepts in his new book “The Storytelling Edge.” This book came out earlier this year and it dives deep into the neuroscience behind why humans enjoy storytelling.

Joe helps companies all the time in his role as the Head of Content Strategy at Contently find and tell their story and that’s why he decided to write this book.

Also in this episode, Joe discusses the key elements to a great story, what makes people actually care about a brand’s content, and the pitfalls of pushing product and content marketing’s inauthenticity problem.

All this and more today on the EDGE!

CONTEST – To win a free book of “The Storytelling Edge”, we are going to do something a little different. As you’ll hear in the episode, a joke is made about dinosaur haikus. So to win a copy of the book, please write your best dinosaur-themed haiku on Twitter by using #EDGEtalk and by tagging us on Twitter (@edgewebradio). One random winner will win a copy of the book! (If you need help with the format of a Haiku, use: https://www.youngwriters.co.uk/types-haiku-poem)
