5 Mistakes Plumbers Make On Their Websites, And How To Fix Them - Plumbing & HVAC SEO - Internet Marketing

Being an expert in SEO for Plumbing contractors I spend a lot of time online looking at different Plumbing company websites. Β I came up with a list of 5 things that could be the cause of maybe not getting the best conversion rate on their websites.

1. No Value Proposition

Why would a potential customer choose your plumbing company over your competitor. One of the problems I see is a site that does not propose value. Some examples are "Satisfaction Guarantee" "On time or $20.00 of your service fee" "Angies List Top company". What I tend to see is companies just have a company name phone number and list of services. You need to differentiate your business from the competitor. Start with a value prop, this will help your SEO and your conversion rate.

2. No Call To Action

Oddly enough I come across a lot of sites and have a hard time finding a way to contact the company. This is a big miss, when someone is looking for a Plumber online they need an easy way to contact you and having a phone number front and center is very important. In fact you must have a phone number on every single page of your website. Don't make it hard for people to contact you.

3. Reading For Robots

The one thing that drives me crazy is when I read a website and you can see right away that they are writing for the search engines and not humans. Paragraphs filled with keywords just trying to game the system. The problem here is that A. Gaming the system catches up with you and eventually you get kicked off the search engine results. B. If the text on your site reads poorly, people will make a decision based on that. Point in case, don't drive people away because your site does not read professionally.

4. Old Outdated Info

I came across a Plumbing website the other day that said "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays" right on the home page, now this is a really nice gesture, however todays date is April 18th. Β This is a sign that maybe this company is out of business and drives customers away.

5. Broken Links

Nothing hurts more than when a potential customer clicks on a link and they are given a broken link error. This hurts your conversion rate and your SEO efforts. Make sure all the links on your site work at all times.
