Video of the Week–Denise Jacobs: Hacking the Creative Brain - Web Directions

I first met Denise Jacobs in 2005, at SxSW (back then it was much smaller, no one talked about Startups, and everyone seemed to go. Now it’s 10 times bigger, and no one goes–a paradox I can’t quite work out).

Over the years I followed her career, as an increasingly respected Web Designer, author of The CSS Detective, and much more besides. And then in recent times, she’s changed her focus (as many of us old time Web designers have), in her case toward a deeper study of human creativity, and how to nurture and develop it.

So, it was a real privilege to have Denise come and speak at Web Directions 2015, the last Web Directions (but as we explained, it’s not really going away, just changing a little, to become Direction, after a decade it was time to refresh and refocus, watch this space for something special in November 2016).

Hacking the Creative Brain was one of those presentations that people mentioned to me as particularly engaging and valuable, and it’s great to be able to share this with a wider audience. If ever Denise is speaking or giving one of her workshops nearby you, drop everything and get there! Meanwhile, set aside your lunch break to hack your creative brain.
