Web Directions Sideshows - Web Directions

Next week is the week of the 10th Web Directions (as the more astute may have noticed, we’ve dropped the ‘South’ part of the name, it’s just Web Directions now). Traditionally, lots of events for Web folks happen that week, some organised by us, many by others.

So much so, a while back we created the concept of “Australian Web Week” as an umbrella for these events, but for one reason or another, it never quite ‘stuck’. Luckily, the events continued.

But as there really are just so many things happening next week, we wanted to create one place where you could find out what was happening, and easily sign up for events that interested you.

Enter Web Directions ‘sideshows’.

There’s over a dozen great events, including

  • A WebRTC/IoT Hack event
  • A month long exhibition by our keynote speaker Tobias Revell (including a great opening night soirée)
  • An open house of creative digital agencies in Sydney
  • A ‘crawl’ of some of inner Sydney’s very best places to drink coffee
  • A Girl Geek Dinner
  • ‘Make Code Play’, an exhibition of amazing work by the student of Sydney University’s Design Computing Program
  • A hand lettering workshop
  • The Australian Web Awards Gala
  • as well special nights from two of our favourite Sydney meetups, SydCSS and SydJS.

What great week to be involved in the Web in Sydney. So even if you’re not going to Web Directions (though a few tickets are left for what will be our best ever show) make sure you get along to some of the other great things happening next week!
