Garage Sale Trail seeks aspiring PHP tech wizard !

Garage Sale Trail, a boutique not-for-profit organisation based in Surry Hills is seeking a talented, motivated developer and php wizard to join their dynamic and growing creative team.

The Garage Sale Trail is a community-based marketplace that enables the peer-to-peer exchange of assets, resources and money on a hyper local level but with national scale. Its about sustainability, community & creativity.

The first ever Garage Sale Trail happened in Bondi Beach during May-2010 and was a big success. It has since grown into a national event and been acknowledged through a series of high profile awards and accolades including an International Green Award (Oscar’s of Sustainability), Green Marketing of the Year, Green Globe Award and Community Contribution of the Year. In addition Garage Sale Trail has received development funding from NESTA in the UK to activate the program across England in 2013|14.

Here in Sydney Garage Sale Trail shares an office with the lovely people at Republic of Everyone and sits above First Draft Art Gallery opposite Price Alfred Park (and the soon to be opened pool!).

We’re looking for a talented php developer and tech wiz who’s hungry to do something big. The role will involve building on the existing garagesaletrail.com.au platform (php) in preparation for the 2013 Australian campaign and event that’s happening Saturday October-26, 2013. In addition you’ll play an integral role in preparing the platform for global rollout across the UK and US.

Garage Sale Trail is supported by national media partnerships with News Limited and ABC Local Radio, consequently the website gets bucket loads of traffic. In 2012 this equated to 143,389 unique visitors over a 4-week campaign period and is expected to double in 2013.

This is a potentially flexible role for the right candidate / student though would need to be in the office one to two days a weel, starting now! Final year students currently studying are also encouraged to apply.
