Holler Sydney is a digital agency located in Surry Hills, Sydney. We’re best known for our online work, but produce offline digital work as well.

We’re seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join our development team. This position is for a developer who is passionate about their craft, possesses a positive attitude, and strong attention to detail.

In this position you will be tackling a varying mixture of technological challenges. In the last few months we have actively developed: an internationalized Symfony2 based web application, promotional microsites, an API consuming CMS website, an iPhone game, and multiple Facebook apps.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with establishing feasibility and time estimates for creative concepts
• Convert requirements and technical specifications into testable, re-usable PHP based websites and applications
• Support and improve existing deployment systems and technical processes

Essential Skills

• 5+ years industry experience. Experience working in team lead or senior development roles beneficial
• PHP 5 based on OOP. Experience with Zend Framework, Symfony Framework or another PHP framework is highly beneficial
• MySQL 5 with in-depth database design and optimisation skills
• Comfortable with the Linux shell and configuring LAMP servers
• Experience with version control (SVN/Git)
• Passion for your craft. A high attention to detail and pride in your work is essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A fearless attitude towards challenges – ‘yes it can be done’ or ‘another solution is…’

Beneficial Skills

• A formal qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
• Contributions to a personal or open-source project
• Experience with test-driven development and other QA processes
• Facebook application development experience
