ABC Innovation is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience to join the Test team for its Web Content Management System (WCMS).

This role requires knowledge in the full testing lifecycle (including planning, test case preparation, execution and issue management) for software implementation. Solid understanding of all test phases and test types is essential, as is the ability to develop business relationships to engage users in testing.

Excellent communication and problem solving skills are vital. The position will require in depth understanding of a highly complex enterprise scale environment to apply custom test strategies and test plans for complex requirements.

The successful applicant will be expected to work within a small Test Team covering a wide range of testing activities. They will have the ability to carry out structured plans and processes while remaining flexible to the fast-paced and dynamic Media industry.

Experience in testing web applications and/or content management systems for a media organisation would be a distinct advantage.

Purpose of role:

To work as part of a team of Testers across all phases of the full testing lifecycle for the ABC’s Web Content Management System

Key Responsibilities:

• Work within the WCMS Test Team to ensure successful execution of the test strategy and test plans

• Develop a deep understanding of system functionality, system requirements and overlying business strategy

• Administer testing activities for multiple work streams as directed by the Test Lead and Senior Test Analyst

• Interpret complex functional specifications to identify test conditions, test objectives and test data

• Undertake the prioritisation and manual execution of test cases

• Raise, track and manage defects through to completion using issue tracking software

• Co-ordinate business resources to implement UAT phases

• Perform execution and high level maintenance of automated regression suites in HP QTP

• Actively promote the ABC values, and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and Work Health & Safety

Key Requirements:

• At least 3 years experience within a similar role testing web applications and/or content management systems

• Deep understanding of web testing & web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML)

• Proven experience in successfully executing Test Strategies and Test Plans

• Working knowledge of the full SDLC and thorough understanding of functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, load & performance testing, user acceptance testing

• Experience in Integration Testing, both in isolation and end-to-end

• Experience across varying methodologies such as waterfall, v-model, agile.

• Excellent communication skills, methodical approach and acute attention to detail

• Experience in test automation and HP QTP is highly desirable

• Understanding and commitment to relevant ABC values, policies and practices including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity, and OH&S.;
