This is a great opportunity for a technical evangelist to live, breathe and talk about the latest in developer and cloud technologies, on behalf of Australia’s most exciting cloud computing business, Ninefold!

What you’ll do:

As our Technical Community Manager you’ll be a hands on community evangelist and technical contributor in the developer and cloud communities. You will engage with internal teams and external community leaders/members to develop content and educate others in the latest developer languages and orchestration tools (Ruby, PHP, Python, and Chef etc) as well as new Ninefold technologies. As a developer yourself, you will be the conduit between the developer communities and Ninefold, helping to drive innovation in product development and problem solving. You will create and curate content including blogs, podcasts, wiki’s, training materials, meetup presentations and support community members to do the same. The best part? • Use your knowledge of Ruby and Developer communities to drive the Ninefold community engagement strategy

• Develop, manage and curate community technical content

• Track and participate in conversations in the DevOps, OpenSource, Ruby, developer and Chef communities

• Cultivate customer/community feedback to the Ninefold dev team, thereby influencing the product roadmap

• Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in Ruby and other languages, computing infrastructure and the cloud provider industry

• Interview and publish articles from key industry players and developers locally and abroad

• Collaborate with other Ninefold specialists such as marketing, sales, support and infrastructure to provide technical assistance, training and content as needed

• Track new product releases, showcase relevant Ninefold case studies, post articles in the community, organize landing pages, write training materials, blogs and wiki’s

• Ensure better product experiences by driving the development of solutions for the community by the community

• Regularly engage with technical communities and prospective customers through social networks (online and otherwise), content creation, partnerships, events, conferences, unconferences, meetup’s, etc

• Act as a brand steward by ensuring brand messaging, tone, and voice across all social media and social coding platforms

• Play a key role in driving meaningful user growth and brand engagement that will build and strengthen the Ninefold ecosystem and relationships with key communities

What you’ll bring:

We want a practitioner, a participant, an evangelist. You live, breathe, talk and connect with people in the Ruby, Chef and other developer communities.

• You must be proficient in Ruby

• Previous/current life as a developer and have worked with orchestration tools

• Ability to work directly with customers and a commitment to their success

• Interest in driving technical community strategies - community management, community participation and social engagement

• Ability to lead and drive technical conversations online and at community events

• Interest in developing and/or managing unconferences, meetup’s, word-of-mouth campaigns and blogger outreach programs

• Record in building great relationships with audiences through technical content, innovation and audience engagement / participation

• Demonstrably superb communication skills, including a dynamic and engaging presentation style that inspires confidence

• Practitioner and participant in the Developer / DevOps / OpenSource / Cloud communities

• Experience in developing training in complex technical tasks and skills

• Awesomeness trumps all other requirements
