We’re Silverpond and we’re looking for a full-time web developer with awesome UI skills

We’re a group of software engineers looking for someone who can develop client-side software for the web and mobile applications we create.

Responsibilities include:

- working with the client, and our graphic designers to come up with a UI design for the project

- working with html/css/javascript to bring it to life as a prototype, or as the final product.

- craft usable, beautiful, and maintainable user interfaces

- assist with designing meaningful APIs between the server and client

- participate in internal reviews and external reviews with the client to ensure the product meets the specifications

Since we’re a small studio, it’s important you know how to pick up new skills quickly, and are willing to get your hands dirty to get things done.

You’ll be working with two software engineers, Kirill and Andy, and a salesperson/project manager/general all-rounder (that’s me). Our office is in Melbourne CBD, and we offer flexible working hours. We’re a tight knit group that works in a collaborative and informal style. Each member has their own area of responsibility, and we trust each other to make decisions that make sense.

Our ideal applicant is someone who feels restricted in typical corporate environments where they don’t have the latitude to challenge themselves and create the best solution to a problem. You’ll be involved in in-depth debates and be expected to participate in constructive conflicts, as we’re committed to producing the best software possible. We share what we learn, and expect you to be continuously improving your talents.

Essential Requirements

- be a nice person

- communicate well in person and in writing

- an eye for design

- meticulous in your approach

- commercial web development experience

- mastery of html, javascript and css

Bonus Requirements

- be a nice person and be funny

- commercial mobile development experience

- have programmed in other languages such as Ruby or familiar with the Ruby on Rails framework

- familiarity with slim, haml, scss, less, coffeescript etc
