How To Get Your Plumbing Business’s Phone Ringing

When it all comes down to it, we advertise and market our business for one reason, and that’s to get sales. So when it comes to the type of advertising to do, you have to make sure you’re getting the best ROI. Withonline marketing there are a bunch of different ways to spend your money and hopefully get some sales.

What works and what does not?

I often get the question about PPC, Pay per click advertising on Google, and am asked my opinion on it. My answer is that it’s a great short term solution and bad long term plan. It’s actually one of the only ways you can advertise your business online and get results right away. Sounds good right? So how could this be bad? The reason it’s bad is because the ROI is very low, the cost per click is high and if you are hiring a third party company to do it for you it just becomes cost prohibited. A lot of these companies that manage your PCC will never disclose their markup fee and in most cases it’s 50 – 100% making your ROI very bad. In the Plumbing Industry the cost per click in a competitive city like Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami or New York could be as much as $25.00 per click. So as you can see, getting 100 clicks a month could really eat up your marketing budget.

Organic is good

When it comes to Internet Marketing for Plumbers your best bet is to show up in the organic results. Optimizing your website for specific keywords and show up when potential customers search is a much better long term marketing plan. In fact statistics show that 79% of Interent searchers will click on the organic results before the Pay Per Click area of the search results page. This method of advertising is call SEO (Search Engine Optimization). SEO starts slow but can produce amazing results in the long term.

Social Media Is The New Black

Social media marketing for Plumbers is the hot area right now and will remain that way for some time. The problem with social media is it’s often done wrong. And Social Media is a very long term strategy, that requires a full time person to run it for you. Social media is all about relationships, and building these relationships requires time and trust. Social media is also the new referral, it’s the place where your customers are talking and referring you to their friends and family and harnessing those relationships are the key to success in this media.
