ABC TV Multiplatform is looking for a Lead Designer who has extensive Design & User Experience knowledge. You should have management experience and a passion for promoting design excellence as it relates to TV content & iView.

In this exciting role, you will work with marketing to ensure integrated media campaigns across all ABC platforms. You will develop and maintain design/UX guidelines in conjunction with Innovation & Multiplatform team members, ensuring all TV Multiplatform campaigns (internal or external) adhere to these guidelines while remaining innovative.

Key Accountabilities:

Manage a group of Designers & User Experience experts, ensuring digital excellence & branding/UX guidelines are applied. Ensure delivery of assets to schedule.

Ensure guidelines are followed for both internally produced and external projects.

Act as brand custodian under direction from, and in consultation with, the brand and marketing teams to ensure the ABC brand is interpreted effectively and appropriately across all digital platforms.

Design excellent, elegant interfaces for highly functional online tools and content presentations associated with the ABC Multiplatform and iView activities.

Maintain and apply outstanding skill and knowledge of online user experience design, covering IA, graphic design, interaction patterns and usability, and apply those to projects and tasks.

Develop & maintain documentation outlining ABC Design & UX standards in collaboration with ABC Innovation and Multiplatform team members.

Collaborate on planning, implementing and documenting particularly complex online projects with Online Producers & TV production stakeholders internally and externally.

Represent Multiplatform on all relevant design/UX committees & regularly update Multiplatform management on team activities.

Develop job plans and conduct performance reviews of all relevant staff members. Provide mentorship & training as required.

Actively contribute to a creative, innovative, culture of excellence within the immediate Television Multiplatform team, and the wider ABC.

Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including ,Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated outstanding level of expertise in design and UX for online tools, mobile and connected device interfaces and websites.

Management experience in leading small to medium sized teams ensuring assigned projects are delivered to schedule

Demonstrated outstanding knowledge and implementation of user experience principles, covering graphic design, information architecture, interaction patterns and usability.

Demonstrated outstanding skills in scoping, planning and prioritising projects and tasks working under pressure to tight deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas and information clearly.

Demonstrated outstanding ability to work independently or lead design projects.

Demonstrated outstanding ability to foster an open and creative approach to user experience design that shares ideas, skills and knowledge across teams.

An understanding of and commitment to the ABC's aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;
