Creating a WordPress blog is simple and easy; however, to upload manually to a server, you will need a few tools that will help you along the way. If you are going to get serious about building an online business then you should be well prepared to spend money for the best tools available. Here are a few of my choices.
1. You will need a stable and reliable FTP software. I recommend using WSFTP as it is the standard in the industry for transferring files from your PC hard drive to your server. You might also use the Fire Ftp found as a Mozilla add on.
2. You will need a domain name. Now this can be purchased from a multitude of sources, but always choose a stable and reliable domain company in which to purchase your domain names.
3. You will need to download the latest and most secure version of WordPress. This is essential simply because earlier versions are not secure, and the chances of them being hacked by outside forces is much greater.
4. You will need WinZip which is a zip file extracting system.
5. You will need a stable and reliable hosting company in which to save your important information. I find that Verehost, from Veretekk, is a stable environment in which to host your product pages and blogs.
