ABC Television is looking for an experienced digital Executive Producer to play a lead role in managing the production of Multiplatform content and websites for ABC TV.

Reporting to the Controller of Multiplatform, the role requires creativity, digital production experience, strategic thinking and strong operational management capabilities. The ABC TV Multiplatform team is focused on convergent television, internet broadcasting, online communities, the development of tools and applications and marketing and promotional projects surrounding ABC TV programs.

Key Accountabilities:

• Strategic Planning: Reporting to Controller of Multiplatform, this role will lead the creative development, strategic planning, design and delivery of ABC TV Multiplatform content both online and on emerging platforms.

• Team Leadership: The Executive Producer Multiplatform will lead a group of digital producers and project teams spanning TV content areas including Factual, Fiction, Indigenous & Arts/Entertainment.

• Commissioning: This role manages the TV commissioning process as it relates to Multiplatform, overseeing creative development, scoping, planning and budget management to deliver innovative content experiences around ABC TV content.

• Project Management: The Executive Producer TV Multiplatform will be responsible for a major project to implement a new enterprise level web Content Management System.

• Stakeholder Management: The EP TV Multiplatform is also responsible for managing relationships with TV content areas and other ABC divisions, with an emphasis on the Innovation, Marketing and Commercial areas.

• Industry Knowledge: This position plays a key role in leading the education of ABC TV staff (both Multiplatform and traditional ABC TV staff) in best practices for multiplatform production & commissioning.

• Editorial: The role will provide editorial leadership around cross-platform production and online editorial issues.

• Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;

Selection Criteria:

1. Contemporary high-level experience in producing multiplatform and interactive content.

2. Proven experience developing focussed and effective digital content strategies for brands across a range of digital platforms.

3. Demonstrated leadership experience and an ability to lead a team of producers providing a high level of production guidance and performance management.

4. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain high-level working relationships with colleagues in ABC TV and other divisions to collaborate, coordinate, manage expectations and deliver on joint initiatives.

5. Demonstrated experience in leading a project team in a complex technical environment with multiple stakeholders.

6. Experience in negotiating contracts and managing relationships with external agencies and institutions.

7. Demonstrated high-level knowledge of publishing techniques and tools for website creation, an excellent understanding of design and usability principles.

8. Strong editorial understanding & ability to apply sound judgement to content and policy issues and provide editorial guidance.

9. Demonstrated ability to give direction and coordinate workflows, and ability to motivate and empower others to work as dynamic and effective teams.

10. Effective communication skills and an ability to present and promote ideas, projects and strategic objectives to internal and external groups.

11. An understanding of and commitment to the ABC's aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;
