After six years of steady growth and an expanding client list, we’re seeking a like-minded PHP developer, with an eye for quality and detail. We’re want a developer’s developer; someone capable of growing with the role and becoming a lynch pin member of the team.

Here at August you’ll work and collaborate on a variety of web–based projects of the highest calibre — it’s the kind of work that gets international web gallery kudos and even pulls the odd award nomination.

We expect that you would be someone that is thoroughly immersed in the digital space and comprehend the latest trends and technologies. We won’t ask you to reinvent the wheel; however, if you see an opportunity to improve, enhance or innovate — go for it.

The job in 45 words or less …

• - Development, enhancement and extension of August application code base
• - System design and development of new applications
• - Delivering on projects within agreed time constraints
• - Developing applications specific to client requirements
• - Collaborating with team members to enhance applications for their specific needs

Does this sound like you?

• - 5+ years commercial experience
• - PHP 5 with outstanding OO skills
• - MySQL 5 with excellent SQL and performance skills
• - Familiar with version control (SVN/Git)
• - Comfortable with the Linux shell and configuring LAMP servers
• - Fluent in standards based HTML and CSS
• - Able to write degradable JavaScript – jQuery preferred
• - Excellent attention to detail

It will help if you have …

• - Experience with CodeIgniter, Symfony2 or a similar MVC framework
• - Impressive portfolio of personal or open-source projects
• - Understanding other server side development languages
• - Track record of test-driven development
• - Comprehension of front-end standards, best-practices, and technologies
