Objective:

ABC Multiplatform is looking for an experienced Video Editor/Web Coordinator to facilitate and manage the delivery, editing and publishing of audio, video and text based content to ABC TV websites, and to administer and coordinate these processes.

This position forms part of the Multiplatform team within ABC TV. The Multiplatform team is focused on convergence television, internet broadcasting, online communities and marketing and promotional projects surrounding ABC TV programs.

Key Accountabilities:

Under limited direction plan, develop and provide video content delivery to ABC TV program websites and web services, including streaming and downloadable video services.

Operate, administer, and instruct others in the production processes, such as the edit, ingest, encode and transcode processes, content co-ordination and quality control and the various network delivery methods for this content, both local and remote.

Ensure the content output conforms to ABC Guidelines in terms of Editorial Policy and production guidelines.

Work effectively as a member of a small production team: build and maintain positive professional relationships with ABC TV production units to enhance output and facilitate efficient, audience-focused production.

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated experience with Final Cut Pro editing, experience working within edit and broadcast facilities, ideally around ingest and play-out operations. Experience with file based broadcast systems an advantage.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of technologies, tools and publishing techniques for website and graphics creation, online video delivery, and interactive content including some experience using content management systems.

Demonstrated experience working with a wide range of video formats, an understanding of the principles of video compression, video codecs, file format conversion and the associated software and hardware.

Awareness of current new media industry developments and trends.

Proven organisational and problem-solving skills, and motivation and initiative to deliver content efficiently and to deadline.

Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a small multi-disciplinary team.

A good working knowledge and understanding of ABC output and corporate policies, including Editorial Policies and guidelines relevant to young audiences.
