ABC Innovation develops and manages the award-winning website abc.net.au. We also deliver some of Australia’s most cutting edge applications across web and mobile platforms; recent projects include The Drum website, ABC iPhone and iPad Apps, and new content portals for ABC Online including Technology and Games, Environment, Religion and the Disability Portal Ramp Up.

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated web producer to join our Networks team to deliver outstanding websites, content and functionality for abc.net.au. Reporting to the Editor, you will be responsible for initiating ideas for improving the ABC website, and working in close collaboration with Design and User Experience teams, Developers, and Editorial teams you will produce a variety of projects for the ABC’s website. You will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing strategy for continual development and improvement of abc.net.au. An excellent understanding of web production including techniques and process for scoping, managing and producing websites and functionality is a must. Experience working as a producer on a large media website is highly desirable.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Produce excellent, innovative websites, web pages and web functionality.

• Plan and implement complex online projects involving designers, developers, managers and other senior stakeholders.

• Research, pitch and scope potential projects with minimal supervision.

• Analyse media and audience trends and provide strategic recommendations on opportunities and new initiatives for abc.net.au.

• Produce and test prototypes for new websites and web functionality.

• Actively contribute to a creative, innovative, culture of excellence within ABC Innovation and the wider ABC.

• Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated and significant experience in initiating and producing outstanding websites and services for online.

• Understanding of user experience principles and processes.

• Experience in researching and analysing online and media trends and making strategic recommendations.

• Tertiary qualification in Multimedia production or related field is highly desirable, with extensive and significant relevant industry experience.

• Demonstrated highly advanced skills in planning and prioritising complex projects and tasks working under pressure to tight deadlines, and knowledge of project management processes

• Demonstrated excellent ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.

• Proven ability to manage, liaise and influence decision making at a senior level.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write briefs, reports and deliver presentations and pitches as required.

• Experience as a producer in a large media organisation highly desirable.

• Understanding and commitment to relevant ABC values, policies and practices including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity, OH&S; and. User Interface Guidelines and their relevance to online user experience design.
