Seeking a resourceful and creative Technical Producer for Children's Multiplatform services. The Technical Producer plays a leadership role in a small team focussed on the production and development of content for ABC's websites, mobile apps and interactive content for the Children's audience.

This position forms part of the Multiplatform team within ABC TV. The Multiplatform team is focused on convergence television, internet broadcasting, online communities and marketing and promotional projects surrounding ABC TV programs.

This position reports to the Executive Producer (Children's Multiplatform), ABC TV Multiplatform.

Key Accountabilities:

• Oversee the creation of ABC Children's TV websites, tools and applications, and lead project teams to deliver innovative and popular online children's destinations.

• Manage or support multiple technical projects ensuring requisite infrastructure is in place and to develop and deliver websites and applications.

• Produce documentation including project scope documents, functional specifications, technical briefs and other project management documentation as required.

• Track resources and project budgets to deliver within the wider programme of work. Lead teams including Developers, Designers and Information Architects to translate content ideas into technical and creative solutions.

• Advise, motivate and lead the multiplatform project teams in the development of new and contemporary applications and activities.

• Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;

Selection Criteria:

1. Substantial experience in producing content and technical solutions for new media platforms (2 years minimum) including production planning, scope, functional and technical requirements definition and the ability to manage multiple projects to deadline and within budget.

2. Demonstrated high-level understanding of relevant technology including front end (HTML/CSS, Javascript, Flash) and back end development programming languages (PHP).

3. Demonstrated ability to make a highly creative and innovative contribution to cross-platform content conception, development and production.

4. Excellent understanding of how children engage with and relate to television brands, content and new technologies.

5. Demonstrated project management experience and a professional business orientation, together with analytical, planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

6. A demonstrated understanding of basic game design and functionality.

7. Effective communication skills and an ability to present and promote ideas, projects and strategic objectives to internal and external groups.

8. Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to present and promote ideas and strategic objectives to internal and external groups at all levels, and negotiation and decision making skills.

9. An understanding of and commitment to the ABC's aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;
