Technical Business Analyst

Salary range from $87,006 - $96,127 pa + attractive super

Duration: 3 months with potential to extend

Location: Ultimo Sydney

Objective: To provide analysis of highly complex business processes and technical systems, define requirements, and design IT solutions for internet-based technical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take principal responsibility for the analysis of complex business scenarios to develop user business requirements and process designs for new systems.

• Work with business owners to research, analyse and assess technical feasibility of proposed projects and ideas.

• Undertake stakeholder meetings and analyse user requirements with respect to technology capabilities, existing systems and integration methods to develop detailed functional requirements for whole system solutions corresponding with business requirements and processes.

• Undertake scoping and market analysis and research for new applications and systems.

• Apply internal standards to all analysis, designs and documentation.

• Liaise with internal technology and IT team to assess proposed applications and systems with regard to existing technology and infrastructure.

• Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity and Diversity and OH&S.;

Selection Criteria:

1. Tertiary qualifications in either computing incorporating business analysis or business incorporating systems analysis required.

2. Demonstrated detailed knowledge and experience in the analysis of business application systems including skills in business process analysis, requirements specification and problem solving.

3. Proven skills in clear documentation of complex business requirements, system designs, testing and training.

4. In-depth knowledge of quality practices and standard approaches in software development and service management. A good grounding in ITIL principles will be highly regarded.

5. Demonstrated motivation and proactive approach combined with specialist leadership in business and/or systems analysis contributing to team goals with respect to technology and business strategies.

6. Outstanding written/oral communication skills, together with a demonstrated ability to convey complex technical information to meet the needs of the relevant audience.

7. An understanding of, and commitment to, the ABC's aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;
