• Salary range: $77,699 – $84,982 + attractive super

• Location: ABC Ultimo Centre, Sydney

• 12 months contract

ABC Innovation develops and manages the award-winning website abc.net.au. We also deliver some of Australia’s most cutting edge applications across web-based, mobile and other platforms; recent projects include triple j Unearthed iPhone App, Gallipoli, ABC iView, ABC iPad applications such as Foodi and the ABC’s main mobile & tablet apps, Bluebird the alternative reality game, and several projects utilising Ushahidi mapping technology.

We are looking for a highly experienced and self-motivated senior digital producer/strategist to join our Strategic Development team to deliver innovative content and services for online and mobile. Reporting to the Research and Strategic Lead you will be responsible for initiating ideas, researching and analysing trends, and working in close collaboration with other Producers, Designers, IAs, Project Managers and Developers on a variety of projects across a range of platforms. As well as working on digital projects directly, you will have the opportunity to develop key strategic ideas and initiatives for the ABC in the digital space. An excellent understanding of digital media production including techniques and process for scoping, managing and producing innovative projects is a must.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Produce excellent, innovative digital content and services for online and mobile sites and applications.

• Plan and implement complex projects involving designers, developers, managers and other stakeholders.

• Research, pitch and scope potential projects with minimal supervision.

• Analyse media and audience trends and provide strategic recommendations on market opportunities and new digital initiatives for the ABC.

• Produce and test prototypes for new content and services.

• Actively contribute to a creative, innovative, culture of excellence within ABC Innovation and the wider ABC.

• Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated and significant experience in initiating and producing outstanding digital content and services for online and mobile platforms, with experience in developing prototypes desirable.

• Proven experience in researching, analysing consumer technology and media trends and making strategic recommendations.

• Tertiary qualification in Multimedia production or related field is highly desirable, with extensive and significant relevant industry experience.

• Demonstrated highly advanced skills in planning and prioritising complex projects and tasks working under pressure to tight deadlines, and knowledge of project management processes

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.

• Proven ability to liaise and influence decision making at a senior level.

• Execellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write strategic research reports and deliver presentations and seminars as required.

• Experience working in a large media organisation highly desirable.

• Understanding and commitment to relevant ABC values, policies and practices including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity, OH&S and. User Interface Guidelines and their relevance to online user experience design.
