Posted on May 2, 2011 in Blog

Can you imagine the your favorite baseball or football team without a coach?  I mean could you imagine any professional team without a coach?  Small businesses can often struggle for growth.  Their owners and founders are struggling to wear the many hats that are required for them to be successful.  A small business coach can provide a great deal of benefit for them.   With the still shaky economy and every business large and small fighting to stay solvent and make a profit, it is more important than ever for business owners to be proactive in growing their business in order to able to compete in the marketplace. That is why more and more businesses are using business coaches to help them become stronger leaders capable of making important decisions and taking the actions necessary to make things happen.

Focus – As entrepreneurs small business owners often lose focus of where they are going with their business.  A business coach can help them stay focused on creating their vision for their business. A business coach can help people who have a goal they want to reach but are unsure how to go about it. They will help you to identify problems and potential obstacles, will give you a sounding board for how to overcome those obstacles, and will cheer you on your way to achieving those goals.

Brainstorming – A great way to solve problems and come up with unique ways to make your business more profitable, brainstorming is often tough to accomplish.  A small business coach can provide experience and energy to help you brainstorm ideas.

Systems – A business coach is going to be familiar with systems that a typical entrepreneur may not have experience with.  They can provide insight into which systems would be most appropriate for a small business to implement.

Tools – To go along with systems, you need tools to implement them.  It could be suggestions on accounting software, online delivery programs, blogging tools, and social media.

Specialized training – Helps sharpen and develop the skills of leaders or potential leaders. Suppose you had all the skills of being a great leader except that you lack the necessary people skills to encourage workers to want to do their best. A business coach can help you identify those skills you are lacking or that need to be refined so that you can develop those skills which will help you to become the type of leader you wish to be.

Accountability – The biggest benefit to using a small business coach is accountability.  They can hold you accountable for the plans you develop for growing your business.  Many times it is easy for us as small business owners to led deadlines slide.  Having someone keep us accountable is a great job of a small business coach.

Confidential – A business coach gives you someone to talk to and confide in. A business coach has no personal feelings connected with  your situation other than the fact that your success means that she has succeeded as a coach. So she will be there to bounce your ideas off of and even listen to worries as well as help you resolve issues that may be holding you back, all in complete confidence.
