The Global CCS Institute Objective

The Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute’s (Global CCS Institute) objective is to accelerate the commercial deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects to ensure their valuable contribution in reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

By collaborating on projects and allowing knowledge to be shared, the Global CCS Institute will play a pivotal role, fostering a spirit of global co-operation to make CCS a commercial reality.

Purpose of the position

To help develop, test, manager and improve the Global CCS Institute’s Knowledge Sharing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Key developer on a set of highly sophisticated knowledge sharing platforms.

• Evaluate the project deliverables from a technical stance, guaranteeing that the development methods used are correct and practical.

• Produce technical architectures that are modifiable, dependable and scalable.

• Develop and implement training, skills development and other aspects of cultural change needed to build a knowledge community.

• Create a work environment where people are encouraged to make their own decisions and work as part of a team.

• Provide leadership and direction to enable the team to achieve the Institute’s knowledge sharing objectives.

Experience & Educational Requirements

Essential:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in computer science /engineering.

• Experience using major Drupal modules

• Comfortably configure CCK content types

• Experience installing, configuring, and administering Drupal

• Knowledge about Drupal hooks, the Drupal API and its architecture

• Sound experience coding XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Experience with revision control tools such as Subversion and/or Git

• Hands on-implementation and delivery experience in content management systems and/or collaboration products, including technical management.

• Experience in architecting and delivering solutions for public communities and within multi-functional organisations.

• Hands-on development expertise with PHP5

• Hands-on technical skills in data modelling, analysis and reporting.

• Technical implementation experience with Scrum, Agile Development methods, Story-based requirements gathering and Continuous Integration.

• Technical architecture and delivery experience in areas such as custom web development, REST, JSON, AJAX, Web services, Mashups.

• Technical SEO / Search Engine Marketing experience.

• Experience in delivering training and skills development to build an online community.

• Proven leadership skills and experience in leading a team of IT Technicians (both employees and contractors).

Desirable:

• Experience dealing with Drupal exportables and drush.

• Developed a custom module or two for Drupal.

• Familiar with MySQL, SSH, and basic Unix commands

• Hands-on development expertise with Java

• Has worked as part of a team in a cooperate environment

• Significant experience in defining enterprise collaboration technology strategy elements such as technical requirements gathering, vendor selection and architecture definition.

• Experience with large - mid-size corporate customers

• Technical experience with public and open source social media platforms

• Exceptional presentation skills for the delivery of training sessions, webinars etc.

• Experience in Energy and complex industrial product organisations

• Experience with organising events like conferences, presentations, webinars etc.

You will have significant experience in defining enterprise collaboration technology strategy elements such as technical requirements gathering, vendor selection and architecture definition. You will utilise your relevant tertiary qualifications in computer science/engineering and you will have gained significant industry experience. You will have highly developed communication, consultation, diplomacy and negotiation skills that can easily adapt to different audiences and environments and superior relationship building skills.
