Do you have a flair for web design and a taste for success? Direct Wines is one of the largest wine merchants in the world – independently owned and running for over 40 years – we are passionate about what we do.

We are looking for a talented web designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will use their exceptional web design skills to create online offers, emails, landing pages, banners and other web assets across our core brands: Laithwaites Wine People, The Australian Wine Club, Laithwaites Wine (HK), And SCMP Wine (HK). You must be comfortable producing pixel-perfect, cross-browser compatible web pages with clean, semantic HTML and CSS. We're looking for someone who can work both independently and collaboratively with web team members and other departments across the company. It is important that you possess creative thinking skills and are able to express ideas in an articulate, well thought-out manner. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize deadlines and have a strong eye for detail. You will be joining a growing company, at a very exciting time, selling a great product. Qualifications:

• A portfolio demonstrating excellent visual design and clean, compliant code

• Expert in Photoshop and HTML/CSS

• Proficiency in Illustrator, Javascript and other scripting languages

• A great eye for visual design (layout, color and typography)

• Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, user interfaces, SEO, Web standards and usability

• Excellent communication skills; written and verbal

• Prior experience with major online or integrated web agency

• Ability to work at a fast pace, to firm deadlines and manage several projects simultaneously

• Positive attitude, energy and strong desire to learn from and share with our experienced in-house team

Experience:

• 3+ years of Web design experience with Photoshop/HTML/CSS

• Experience with SVN/VSS Source Control software a plus

• Experience with JSP and ASP a plus

• Experience with ATG or similar ecommerce platform a plus

• Basic knowledge of jQuery a plus
