Competition rules

Entries must use NSW Government data, preferably drawn from data.nsw, or supplied by NSW Government agencies at the event.

Any data on data.nsw may be used for developing apps at the apps4nsw dev day.

Any commercialisation / release of apps using public sector data is subject to agreement with the custodian agency of the data – it is the responsibility of the developer to pursue this agreement.

Developers retain the IP for the apps they build.

All entrants warrant that their entries do not contain any material that infringes the intellectual property rights or moral rights of anyone else.

All entrants consent to their entry being published on data.nsw.

Entrants will indemnify the Organisers against any third party liabilities, claims, costs, expenses (including legal costs), loss or damage incurred by the Organisers as a result of publishing any material submitted by entrants as part of their entry.

The following entries will be ineligible for prizes:

• entries from employees of the Organisers and the immediate families of such employees;
• entries from competition judges and their immediate families;
• entries for projects that have been wholly or substantially funded by State or Federal Government.

The Organisers reserve the right to verify the validity of entries and reserve the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process.
