Challenges and datasets
There are five categories in the competition, each with a prize pool of $1500.

Use any of the datasets you find at data.nsw to build an app that falls into one or more of the categories. See below for examples of the kinds of thing you might do.
Energy Category
You could use
- average electricity consumption by Local Government Area
To
- tell people how their energy usage compares to other
- alert people to days of high demand so they can voluntarily reduce their consumption
Transport Category
You could use
- real-time bus stop description data
- real-time bus stops and vehicles data
- live Traffic Cameras
- RTA Live Traffic RSS Feed
To
- find the location and arrival time for public transport in real time
- make it easier to catch public transport and know whatβs happening
- help people plan travel times to reduce congestion and delays
- allow people to report faults and graffiti on trains and Railcorp properties
- allow people to report and find property lost on trains and buses
