Nominations for this year’s McFarlane Prize, which we founded in memory of Australian web and open source pioneer Nigel McFarlane in 2006, will open on July 1, and close on August 31st of this year.
The prize aims to recognise “excellence is Australian web design” — and focusses on 4 key areas of best practice. Design, Coding, Accessibility and Usability. A Jury of four eminent experts in each of these fields will assess the entrants, and ultimately award the prize.
If a site has launched since September 1st 2007, or has been significantly updated since then, it is eligible for entry, provided it was developed by an Australian, or team based here in Australia. The site may be for an international company or organisation.
The developers or owners of a site may nominate the site, but anyone may nominate a site they believe should be considered for this prize.
