セッション：ePub 3.0到来：HTML5とCSS3でつくる次世代電子書籍の規格
ePUBは電子書籍のフォーマットとして標準といえる存在です。現在、ePUB テクニカルコミッティでは最近のブラウザで標準実装されている HTML5, CSS, SVG を盛り込んだ新バージョン ePUB 3.0 の規格に取り組んでいます。
今セッションでは、ePUB 3.0 の規格も積極的な取り組みを行っている ePUB の専門家達を招いて、開発の課題と問題的について話し合います。テクニカルコミッティのサブグループである Extended Global Language Support (EGLS) が既に提示している問題点を中心に、日本語や中国語をはじめとした縦書きの表現を必要とするアジア圏の言語の導入に関する議論も行います。
