Newism is excited to announce that we’re in need of a mid-level php developer and/or recent graduate. The position will be full-time at our Newcastle office and the successful candidate will be able to start immediately.

International applicants will not be considered at this stage.

You will be reporting to our Technical and Creative Directors and will be working with a small team of designers and developers, taking a range of rewarding projects from brief to completion.

Flexibility is a big thing for us, so the ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and methodologies is vital.

Newism are a small team of experts with a diverse range of skills, working on great projects for a range of cool companies and brands. Most importantly we’re looking for someone who will value working for us. A lot of us at Newism have young families, so work/life balance is something we heavily encourage.

Must have skills:

• Object-oriented PHP development
• MySQL
• Javascript/JQuery/AJAX
• HTML/CSS
• Practice web standards

Experience with any of the following is highly regarded:

• Git (version control)
• ExpressionEngine (or similar publishing platforms)
• CMS plugin development
• E-commerce
• Actionscript
• Photoshop
• Mac user

We work with several ad agencies, so any experience in that regard is a plus.
