John Resig

John Resig is a JavaScript Tool Developer for the Mozilla Corporation and the author of the book Pro JavaScript Techniques. He’s also the creator and lead developer of the jQuery JavaScript library and jQuery Mobile framework.

Currently, John is located in Boston, MA. He’s hard at work on his second book, Secrets of the JavaScript Ninja, due in bookstores in 2010.

Session: Mobile JavaScript and jQuery Mobile

While using JavaScript to write desktop web apps is well understood at this point, writing JavaScript for mobile web browsers is a complete mystery. What operating systems are used? What browsers are popular? Are they even capable of running modern JavaScript code? This talk will attempt to answer all of those questions and show some of the tools that've been developed by the jQuery team to build interesting mobile JavaScript applications. All of the techniques discussed in this talk will be regarding using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in a modern mobile web browser to create either mobile web applications or downloadable mobile applications.
