Home Care Agency Sales Leads and Social Media…. Where do you go from here?

by George Novoson, a partner in LTC Expert Publications

Many of our home care agency clients have asked us the question: “What else can you do for me to compete in my territory.  Home care is a crowded space and getting more crowded every day. The competition is certainly getting tougher. It’s harder and harder to purchase high quality sales leads from lead companies. Pay Per Click advertising is less affordable by individual companies as large players bid up the cost in each geography. The other hidden factor is that consumers are using this channel less and less.

Currently there is only one remaining online approach that is key to success on the Internet in the near term. That is the strategy of building and maintaining an organic presence on Google searches with an effective lead capture page that can convert a visitor. Gaining and holding these positions is now the goal of most local small businesses that are investing in their own growth.  It’s a tougher battle and only a few companies will win. There is no instant gratification like with Pay Pay Per Click or buying a sales lead. You have to publish continuously with high quality content. Google now indexes sites much more rapidly so the nature of how to win at search is changing. Who is going to write all those articles and distribute videos and blog this week in your company?

The marketing people that tout social media as a main solution to obtaining sales leads probably do not have the job of making  payroll in their companies.  The reality is that just like you and I, when a consumer looks for a local service of almost any kind they go to Google and start typing. No they do not go to Facebook or LinkedIn or Twitter. We are very practical about this subject. To us Social Media provides a great publishing and distribution platform for content that in effect can drive great results with Search Engine Optimization. End of story for now. This will probably change at some point but this week’s payroll needs to be made. We will adapt like everyone else.

The question is: Who will have some space on the largest online billboard in your territory? We know that there are many more home care agencies in each territory then there are spaces on the first page of Google results.

Our response to this issue is to build a better mousetrap and provide a path for our clients to enhance their online organic position. We have done it in two ways:

63st we have added much more fire power to our social media program for home care by implementing what we call Ultimate Eldercare Marketing Program. We sell this as an upgrade to our basic Social Media Marketing Program. This program ensures that each client has an effective lead capture Web site integrated with their blog and client newsletter. A new updated set of videos and an effective article marketing program combine to create the essential back links. We now have four streams of publishing feeding the relevancy of our clients’ most precious online asset, their lead capture page.

78nd we are doing the oldest marketing strategy in the world. We are working a niche within a niche. After careful analysis we found that Alzheimer’s patients are very import to our clients’ businesses so we created a home care Alzheimer’s marketing program for them with all the bells and whistles of the Ultimate Eldercare Marketing Program. This program has been in place for only a brief period and we are starting to place very high the Alzheimer’s home care searches. We want our clients to be positioned as the go to local home care agency for this segment of care giving families.
