USER EXPERIENCE INFORMATION ARCHITECT at Australian Broadcasting Corporation

• Salary range: $72,885 – $90,171 pa + attractive super

• Location: ABC Ultimo Centre, Sydney

ABC Innovation develops and manages the award-winning website abc.net.au, We also deliver some of Australia’s most cutting edge applications across web-based, mobile and other platforms; recent projects include triple j Unearthed iPhone App, Gallipoli, Black Saturday, ABC iView,.ABC iPad applications and Campaign pulse

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated User Experience Architect to join our design team to deliver some of Australia’s most cutting edge applications for online & mobile. Reporting to the Creative Lead you work in close collaboration with other IAs, Designers, Project Managers and Developers on a wide range of interactive platforms. An excellent understanding of web usability issues and familiarity with the techniques and process for designing and producing innovative projects is a must.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Under broad direction, create excellent, elegant interfaces for highly functional online & mobile sites and applications.

• Maintain and apply the highest level of skill and knowledge of online user experience design, covering IA, interaction patterns and usability and apply those to projects and tasks.

• Collaborate on planning and implementation complex projects with designers, developers, managers and other staff.

• Actively contribute to a creative, innovative, culture of excellence within ABC Innovation and the wider ABC.

• Advocate and apply ABC values and all relevant ABC policies and procedures including Equity & Diversity and OH&S

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated outstanding level of expertise in UX designing and leading the UX design of, online tools, interfaces and websites with mobile experience a particular advantage.

• Demonstrated outstanding knowledge and implementation of user experience principles, covering creation of wireframes, sitemaps, information architecture, interaction patterns and usability.

• Tertiary qualification in Human Factors, Design, User Interface Design or related field is highly desirable, with at least 4 years relevant industry experience.

• Demonstrated outstanding skills in planning and prioritising projects and tasks working under pressure to tight deadlines.

• Demonstrated outstanding ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing an advantage.

• A detailed understanding and commitment to relevant ABC policies and practices, including Editorial Policies, Corporate Equity & Diversity Policies, OH&S Policies, User Interface Guidelines and their relevance to online user experience design.
