Web publishing officer (6 months)

at Australian Electoral Commission in Canberra, ACT

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) Web team is responsible for www.aec.gov.au and the corporate intranet. This small team plays a key role in managing two of the agency’s most important communication channels and will play a significant role during the upcoming federal election.

Role

Under general direction:

• Manage the Web team’s busy email inbox
• Work with clients to complete their web publishing requests
• Monthly reporting on intranet and internet usage
• Web project work as directed

Skills required

Mandatory:

• Demonstrated sound experience hand coding high quality xHTML/CSS that is standards compliant.

Desirable:

Demonstrated sound experience –

• Developing Information Architecture for websites
• Client-side scripting with popular Javascript libraries
• Conducting expert usability reviews or user-testing for websites or applications
