• Salary range: $81,615 – $90,171 pa + attractive super

• Location: ABC Ultimo Centre, Sydney

• Term: 6 months contract

ABC Innovation is looking for an experienced technically-confident digital Project Manager to play a lead role in managing major digital development projects. These will include:

• A major project to work with experts in mapping out the ABC’s Accessibility Roadmap for the future

• Project management for a major new disability initiative within the ABC.

• The scoping and rebuilding of the ABC’s corporate site.

ABC Innovation projects cover a variety of platforms and languages and the Project Manager should have enough technical knowledge to understand the specific complexities and issues that attend these.

The Project Manager, Innovation will report into the Project Director, Innovation. They should bring a substantial level of experience across multiple project management methodologies to the division. They will run the delivery of multiple large technical projects, provide discipline through project methodology, resourcing and scheduling, and work with Producers, who fulfil the roles of business owners, strategists, and creative leads.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Manage multiple strategic technical projects according to industry best practice and Innovation process. This includes taking responsibility for full project lifecycle development and risk management.

2. Produce documentation including technical and business requirements, project scoping and functional specification.

3. Track resources and project budgets to deliver within the wider Innovation programme of work. Manage the scheduling of relevant developers, designers, and work with external partners to translate content ideas into technical and creative solutions.

4. Work with stakeholders, both within ABC Innovation, and in the wider corporation, to develop applications and services on new platforms and with new partners.

5. Champion the Producer / Project Manager partnership, providing both support and discipline to ABC Innovation projects, and giving Producers the freedom to manage the content, vision and strategy behind the products being developed.

6. Advocate and apply ABC values and all relevant ABC policies and procedures, including Equity & Diversity and OH&S.

Selection Criteria:

1. Extensive experience in online and digital project management (4 years minimum) including production planning, scope and requirements definition and the ability to manage multiple projects to deadline and within budget.

2. A minimum of Foundation-level PRINCE2/PMBOK or similar qualification in a recognised project management methodology is required. Experience of working within AGILE frameworks is also highly desirable.

3. Demonstrated high-level understanding of relevant technology including front end (HTML/CSS, Javascript, Flash) and back end development programming languages (.NET, PHP). Experience in working on mobile projects would be an advantage.

4. Demonstrably professional business orientation, together with excellent analytical, planning, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.

5. Experience in project managing the development of a wide range of digital services for a variety of platforms. Having worked within, or worked closely with, organisations and groups working in the area of accessibility and disability in the past would be an advantage.

6. Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to present and promote ideas and strategic objectives to internal and external groups at all levels, and negotiation and decision making skills.

7. An understanding of, and commitment to, the ABC’s aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.
