Information Architect

at MOB in Sydney

MOB is looking for an IA that has been soaking in the online space for a at least 2-3 years and can talk to the what’s and the why’s of what you have done.

We are not asking for you to have a degree in psychology, HCI or design (although if you do that's great!). You will be pragmatic, able to work on developing flexible UX frameworks that can incorporate new requirements without the need to re-define new interaction models and strategies.

You need to be able to tell us about your approach to user experience challenges and why you do what you do.

We are a growing company specialising in product development for both clients and ourselves. We use the products we build.

Based in central Sydney in a cubicle-free office with a Husky, and above some great coffee/cafes.

REQUIREMENTS:

- You should be tool agnostic when it comes to wireframing and prototyping.

- Some experience in a commercial product and/or service development environment.

- Strong and consistent user focus, demonstrated through putting the user and their needs ahead of features and technology (but based on an awareness of the technology landscape).

- A sufficient high-level understanding of technology to enable an informed assessment of how the technology approach will impact on User Experience design.

- Working knowledge in human interface guidelines, standards, and best practices as they apply to platforms.

- Able to articulate solutions via a sketchpad and whiteboard.

- A passion for continually exploring, learning and experimenting.

DESIRABLE:

- Experience in mobile/multi-platform design/development.

- Participate actively in an online and connected world.

The role is initially for a 3 month period (flexible days if required) with the possiblility of an extension.
