Fairfax Digital is the online and mobile arm of Fairfax and operates commercial web sites for news and information (including smh.com.au, theage.com.au, brisbanetimes.com.au, WAToday.com.au and thevine.com.au) as well as transaction sites (including RSVP.com.au, stayz.com.au and trademe.co.nz).

Task

We need to create a frontend HTML/CSS carve from Photoshop files and wireframes (no design) for a new site. The main parts of the site will be designed but some need application of your own designer eye based on an existing site.

The site has some interactive elements such as tabs and a lightbox which need to be programmed in jQuery.

Requirements

============

• You have senior HTML/CSS skills for an efficient and fast implementation. You know how to translate content into a semantic structure and you “bake in” best accessibility practises and techniques for keyboard and screen reader users as you go.

• This project requires jQuery-based Javascript functions which you need to program in an accessible, generic, re-usable way.

• If you have designed in the past these skills will be a competitive advantage.

• Your communication skills are excellent to liaise with the product manager, your manager and other members of the team when questions arise. You are not shy to ask questions.
