Sr JavaScript Developer needed for growing software wcm firm - telecommute position at Tara Gowland

Our product enables faster and more productive website authoring and our typical customer is a large enterprise with substantial investment in their intranet or public-facing web site. Some of our customers include IBM, Open Text, Oracle, Johnson & Johnson, Verizon, Abbott, AHold, and Reuters. Proud to have more than quadrupled sales in recent years, we are currently looking to expand our team to include a Senior JavaScript Developer. This role is a newly created position due to our recent partnership with TinyMCE (Moxiecode).

We are seeking a Software Developer who is experienced in creating sophisticated, highly interactive, JavaScript applications. Ideally we desire someone that has experience in TinyMCE or has experience working as part of an open source project. The right person will have the ability to work remote in a highly collaborative manner with virtual teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of the Open Source JavaScript editor TinyMCE.

• Build and maintain relationships with the TinyMCE Open Source community by contributing to the project via patches and support.

• Triage and manage support for clients and prospective clients.

• Assist support and engineering departments to prioritize bug fixes and product enhancements.

• Develop fixes, enhancements and plug-ins to TinyMCE and other Ephox products.

• Provide remote and on-site consulting and development services to clients. Some travel will be required.

Required Skills:

• Significant experience developing modern, cross-browser JavaScript.

• Demonstrated experience working with Open Source projects and engaging with Open Source communities.

• Experience working in a highly collaborative manner with remote teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in client facing or consulting roles and a passion for customer satisfaction.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience developing and extending TinyMCE either as plug-ins or preferably on the core code base.

• Nice to haves: PHP, .NET and/or Java.

• Experience in content authoring tools, especially within web content management.

• Bachelors or advanced degree is desirable.
