Salary range: $72,885 – $79,717 pa + attractive super

Location: ABC Ultimo Centre, Sydney

Term: Contract up to mid December 2010

ABC Innovation develops and manages the award-winning website abc.net.au, attracting over 26 million weekly accesses and growing. We also deliver some of Australia’s most cutting edge applications for the internet, mobile and other platforms; some of our recent projects have been Gallipoli, Black Saturday, ABC iView and Sydney Sidetracks.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated web and/or digital media producer to initiate and manage projects for ABC Online and other media platforms. You will potentially produce websites, mobile sites, applications and tools that will enhance and extend the reach of ABC content for audiences, as well as explore opportunities for innovative new projects in line with the ABC’s strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will also have a thorough understanding of information architecture processes and experience performing information design tasks for web and/or digital media projects.

Key accountabilities

• Research, scope, plan, produce and manage innovative web and/or digital media projects.

• Produce written reports, prepare and maintain project documentation, manage and report on production budget.

• Gather user requirements, develop interface wireframes and work as part of a production team as an information architect as required.

• Initiate and prepare project briefs for commissioning in line with ABC Innovation strategic objectives.

• Maintain high-level awareness of advances in both the digital media industry and audience trends, and initiate and develop innovative projects for the ABC.

• Build relationships with internal ABC output areas to develop and collaborate on projects.

• Advocate and apply ABC values and all relevant ABC policies and procedures, including Equity & Diversity and OH&S.;

Selection Criteria

1. Proven high-level experience in developing, producing and delivering web and a variety of digital media projects.

2. Proven ability to plan creative projects, produce effective documentation; deliver complex projects to deadline and within budget.

3. Strong knowledge of contemporary information design principles and experience creating functional interfaces for web and/or digital media projects.

4. Demonstrated experience in producing information architecture solutions (site maps, wire frames flow charts, navigation) for new media platforms.

5. Demonstrated outstanding experience working within a large production environment and project management skills.

6. Demonstrated written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

7. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with experience in establishing solid working relationships with colleagues, external stakeholders and clients.

8. Understanding of the strategic direction of the ABC. Understanding and commitment to ABC values, policies and practices including Equity and Diversity and OH&S.;
