Senior Product Manager at GSI Commerce

The Product Manager will identify and execute on strategies that enhance the value of the GSI offering to its partner base, while positioning GSI favorably in the marketplace. The successful candidate will work with cross functional team in planning, developing and implementing new initiatives and advancing the GSI platform. He or she will be responsible for managing the life cycle of the products, including the product planning and market research, development and rollout, communication and feedback from the partner and consumer base, and the on-going lifecycle management of the products. The candidate will be responsible for creating and executing the product roadmap for his/her strategic area of focus.

The Product Manager will be responsible for:

- Driving the definition, execution, and marketing communication of products identified as competitive positioning opportunities for GSI

- Identifying emerging trends in GSI's competitive market (consumer, retailer, and B2B) and determine effective strategies and products to utilize those trends for the benefit the company.

- Assuming ownership in the marketing, evolvement, and deployment of existing, mature products within the GSI suite.

- Identifying configuration options of the product that addresses the most critical needs of the partner base, while providing a streamlined and cost-effective deployment strategy for partner rollouts.

The product manager will need to maintain excellent working relationships with internal business and technical teams, and establish professional relationships with GSI's partners and sales prospects. He or she will lead major product initiatives and serve as an expert liaison to other groups within the company and externally. The Product Manager will be responsible for internal and external education of his/her product, including conducting Webinars, informational sessions, and serving as the subject matter expert in the guidance of the rollout and adoption of products to the partner base.

In evaluating new opportunities, GSI may elect to pursue partnering with an existing technology provider or vendor. The Product Manager will be responsible for identifying partnership and vendor opportunities and managing the RFP process in coordination with the technology team.

The Product Manager will be responsible for collaborating with the business analyst teams and the information architecture teams in delivering to the technology organization team, clear and complete product requirements. The product manager will be required to coordinate with the technology team to ensure the successful implementation and deployment of products consistent with GSI's core business practices and vision.

The Product Manager will ultimately be accountable for the timely, budgeted deployment of the product. This includes performing competitive analysis, determining and managing the scope of the product, communicating the product features and timeline to internal and external business stakeholders, and collaborating with the technology teams to manage business issues and priorities to ensure deadline adherence.

Experience -

The Product Manager will have a successful track record of marketing products and services, ideally in the e-commerce space or in a comparable fast-moving technology category. This person should know how to successfully rollout products and services, and communicate the rollout strategy internally and externally. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience in product marketing/management.

The candidate must have the ability to successfully juggle multiple projects and be effective at influencing a wide range of groups within a company. It is important that he or she quickly establishes credibility with the internal technology team, partner account management teams and with external clients. The candidate must have demonstrated skills in building business cases incorporating market data and ROI analysis that will secure approval and funding from the executive team.

This person must be able to convincingly drive product decisions and must be equally adept at both written and oral communication (proof of ability to drive product decisions through stakeholder acceptance among sales, marketing, engineering and executive teams is a must). The successful candidate will be an effective product team participant, who is expected to drive the product direction of products after they have been approved.

The candidate must possess or have experience in project management and coordination skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to understand technology issues and concerns.

Education

Quantitative Undergraduate Degree; MBA Preferred

Computer Science or technical degree extremely desirable
