Time’s running out to take advantage of early bird pricing for Perth’s long awaited web industry event: Edge of the Web, brought to you by the Australian Web Industry Association.

On the 6th of November there will be a full day two track conference featuring

  • Derek Featherstone, who’ll be delivering the opening keynote - Journeying to the Edge of the Web - in fact, as he travels all the way from Ottawa to be there, the reality of this title will very much sink in for Derek!
  • Chris Messina - designing for openness and reuse
  • Cameron Adams - designing with creative code
  • Lisa Herrod - Usability for designers, developers and decision makers
  • Tim Lucas - designing for iPhone
  • Donna Spencer - involving users in the development process
  • Russ Weakley - pushing the boundaries on content rish web sites
  • Laurel Papworth - how to develop a social marketing campaign
  • Stephen Collins - Enterprise 2.0
  • Ben Buchanan - advocating for a better web

If you haven’t been to a web conference before, I can tell you, that will be an amazing day.

Then on Friday the 7th, some optional workshops where you can go indepth with:

  • Derek Featherstone - Real World Accessibility for Ajax and Web Apps
  • Donna Spencer - Information Architecture
  • Kai Koenig - Adobe AIR Bootcamp
  • Cameron Adams - Frontiers of Javascript

Check out all the details on these great value half day workshops here.

The guys from Perth have done a fantastic job pulling this all together at a price so reasonable it’s worth your while to travel there from “over east” to be a part of it. For myself, I’m really looking forward to hanging out and being part of someone else’s event.
