Yanik Silver James Schramko Maverick Business Insider Interview [41:57m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (1287)

Maverick Business Insider Newsletter is a new release from copywriter and entrepreneur Internet Marketer Yanik Silver. I had a chance to talk with him for 40 minutes on the subject of Internet Marketing on behalf you as a subscriber of this blog.

Highlights from the Yanik Silver and James Schramko discussion are as follows. First we covered internet marketing related questions from my blog readers:

Q: JanPaul – Should we operate online as undercover pen names or brand ourselves or our company?

A: Yanik says this depends on what your personal situation. If you want to be a personality then be yourslelf. If you are an undergound niche marketer then you can keep a pen name. If you want to sell your business you can brand the business.

Q: Rich – I would love to know Yaniks Daily Plan of Action

A: Yanik shared the 80:20 rule he applies to get the most productive tasks done in the least possible tme. Yaniks offers advice on being pro-active rather than reactive. He shares his views on emails etc…

Q: Nina – has the economy changed how you and the business mavericks adventure group are marketing?

A: Yanik thought this was great question. The answer is really interesting and show you his mindset. Every perceived problem can ba answered by asking questions of yourself. Asking yourself creative questions can give you the really deep answers. The economy offers entrepreneurs opportunites. Use the situation to your benefit. Keep drilling down and you will get great answers.

Q: Ed – do aggressive upsells work or the passive type like amazon?

A: Yanik believes whole heartedly in updells when done correctly. If you are not doing up-sells you are missing out on instant business leverage. Full details are in the < a href-"http://www.MaverickInsiders.com"> Maverick Insider Baja session. Make it clear and optional. People don’t have to take it. Do it in an appropriate way for you and make sure you are offering value for the end user.

Q: Colin – most US e-marketers don’t reply to emails. I assume because of the volumes. But isn’t this damaging to the relationship? Dosn’t this relegate their communications to just another “push” medium?

A: Yanik answers this tough question honestly. He would be answering emails for 24 hours a day unless he created leverage systems to cope with it. Yanik suggests way to leverage customer emails and this is something every scaling business will need to cover. There are also guidelines that virtual assistants can follow to help free you up.

Q: Andy / Nancy / Gordon / Ann Marie – what SPECIFIC type online business would you start today for fast success?

A: Yanik knows exactly what he would do if he started again. It revolves around what you are personally into. For Yanik it would definatly be an information business because of the possibilities to work once and get paid over and over again. He still has a six figure a year product line that came from a single effort years ago.

Q: Andy – what persausion tactics to use and three most important elements in sales letters?

A: Yanik has read the Cialdini book (Influence) nine times and his favorite persuasion technique is the reason why (We have a bit of a laugh about some of the ‘reason why” examples Yanik has used in the past). The three things Yanik would have in the sales letter are the headline, psychology factors and PROOF. Yanik lists a bunch of examples for different product types.

Q: Anthony – What new markets does Yanik see opening up on the web? Eg. China? And is he doing anything to tackle them now?

A: Yanik sees opportunity everywhere and he knows how to maximise the market in front of him.

Q: Donna – Is there a formula for figuring out when it is profitable to begin to use outsourcing?

A: Yanik says this is at the point where where you decide your time is more valuable than doing the non important stuff. Stick to what you are good at and get someone else to do the other stuff.

Q: Mark – What are good ways to build a list of prospective buyers and not just freebie seekers?

A: Yanik says you need the right bait. If you always offer free stuff then you will upset people if you try and sell them something. Don’t be afraid to ask for the sale.

Q: Craig – What would a REAL Maverick do if elected president?

Q: “Oh Man” – This one threw Yanik – and he is very passionate about the impact entrepreneurs have on society. The detailed answer to this is facinating and I hope someone from the Government listens to this. Prizes facilitate innovation and could be used to leverage peoples talents for altering the world.

Q: Andy – What is the single most important factor for online success?

A: Yanik said it was probably what goes on inside your head. It is partially your mindset, your values, your belief system and what you decide to live by. Yanik mentions his formula.

Q: John – Does Yanik have any personal mind body balancing practices?

A: Yanik wants to get better at this. The Maverick three circles cover this, make more money, have more fun and give back. As each one of these increase it affects all the other areas.

(Congratulations to John! – Yanik picked your question as the best).

Q: Leeda – how do we get to be as good looking as you?

A: Yanik thanks his mum and dad
