Different professions have their networking sports of choice - it may be the traditional golf, Barack Obamas’s favoured Basketball, Yachting, but in the web, indoor climbing seems to be the sport of choice, with well known adherents like Kevin Rose and Daniel Burka of Digg, Tantek Çelik.

Whether you’ve climbed the Arapiles, or wouldn’t know a carabina from a carona (that’s the thing with the lemon attached), here’s your chance to climb with fellow web folks during web week.

So, if you are an avid climber, stopped climbing years ago, or have never climbed at all, sign up and get along to web week’s social climbing event. If you’re a beginner, or need a refresh, you’ll get a belaying a safety lesson, and all the gear you’ll need will be provided.

At the end of the session, you’ll get the chance to unwind with a quiet drink or two.
