An exciting opportunity exists for a competent techie wishing to unleash his or her technical writing and editing ability in a young, dynamic and innovative company.

The Person We’re Looking For

Practical experience with client-side technologies and at least one server-side platform is expected. A broad interest in web technology and programming fundamentals is also required. Excellent writing and editing skills are a must, as well as strong communication and organizational skills.

The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of as many Web technologies as possible (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Ruby On Rails, ASP.NET, Java, Flash, Flex, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.).

The most suitable person for this role will be someone who is passionate about web design and development, has been tinkering with different web technologies for some time, keeps up to date with the web industry, and enjoys reading and writing.

The Technical Editor’s Role

The objective of this role is to ensure the high level of technical and educational quality of SitePoint produced content. Technical editors identify and correct errors, omissions, and unclear wording in technical books and articles written for web developers and designers. The role will involve exploring and understanding new technologies quickly and efficiently, and researching new ideas for SitePoint content.
