PHP Developer

We are a web company founded by ex-Google and ex-Yahoo employees. We are based on the water in Balmain, Sydney.

This contract is primarily for the development of an exciting e-commerce site. Strong candidates will have experience working alongside offshore teams as a project manager and/or PHP developer. If you can bring a proven team with you that is even better.

What we need:

We need a talented and experienced PHP developer with an exceptional work ethic, proven organisational skills, attention to detail and:

• A tertiary degree in computer science, IT, software engineering or other relevant field.
• +3 years experience programming in a commercial environment.
• Expertise in PHP (at least 3 years), SQL, HTML, Javascript, CSS and XML.
• Wordpress or Drupal experience would be advantageous
• Design skills a plus
• Experience in Agile development a plus

• Knowledge of Linux a plus.

Our PHP programmers are critical to the success of our projects. We expect our staff to be thorough, committed to deadlines and keen to code. You would be involved in architecture, project management, coding, testing and support. In exchange we provide ample guidance, flexibility, a fun working environment with all the contraptions you’d want (space, lounges, games area), flexibility and bundles of enthusiasm.

If you succeed on a contract basis there is plenty of potential to move into a full-time PHP role.

Location:

Our beautiful Balmain office is part of a business complex that was converted from old boatsheds several years ago that now houses creative types en masse. You can kayak to work if you are that way inclined!

About Us:

We are close to 1 year old and have a range of web properties to develop. We do not do any client work. The founders were employees of Google and Yahoo in Australia.
