ブラウザとしてのChrome，そしてもう1つの顔

先週はGoogleがリリースしたウェブブラウザ，Chromeについて考えてみました．といいますか，今週はその続きです．
本題に入る前に，Chromeのレンダリングエンジンはwebkitですから，描画性能そのものはAppleのSafarliと同様．つまり，Chromeが普及したら対応しなくちゃいけないブラウザが増えて困る，，，という事態について心配する必要はあまりなさそうです．webkitはOSSだけに，CSS等のウェブ標準準拠の程度も高いですしね．
で，レンダリングエンジンがSafariと同じというのであればChromeの特徴はどこにあるのかというと，ついついタブがアドレスバーの上に表示されるというユーザインターフェースに目が行くわけですが，実はビジュアルだけではなくJavascriptの処理速度が断然速いという点が最も重視されるべきだったりします． 続きを読む
