I totally agree with keeping your blog on your site. I know some people who register with blogger etc and blog about their company to help build links to their main site.

Hi - good article about blogging.
One question - If I am to set up blogger so that a new post is published every day by email (even while I am on holiday) - which autoresponder / script / tool do you recommend for the job?

One excellent way to do this is using phplist
It should work fine on the vast majority of web servers / hosting accounts.
It was a one click install with my hosting provider (register1.net) - but make sure you get an up to date version (the latest I believe as I write this is version 2.10.4) - I had some problems getting a previous version to work properly with html emails - but thanks to the fantastic guys at the phplist forums and register1.net - it is now working great for me…
