Search engine friendly web design involves creating websites whose structure and content are as accessible as possible to search engines. Since search engines are built for humans, it follows that search engine friendly websites are also human friendly websites.

 SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the process of optimizing a website to show up in Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) for a particular keyword or set of keywords. SEO projects involve three broad categories of focus:

  • Content

    Writing quality content is extremely important for SEO.
  • Link building

    The amount of links pointing to your website, the quality of the sites they originate from, and the anchor text (link text) they use to link to your site all contribute greatly to how search engines view the important of your website for various search terms.
  • Code structure

    How your site is structured and written "under the hood" is very important for successful search engine optimization. This includes use of semantically correct HTML markup (proper use of H tags, meta tags, title tags, etc.).
  •  SERP or SERPsSERPs stands for Search Engine Results Pages. This term is used to refer to the pages you want your website to show up on when a user searches for a particular keyword or phrase.
